Legend promises the kisser of the Blarney Stone will attain the gift of Eloquent Speech.
I grew up in my grandfather’s wood shop. My Irish grandfather always referred to haughty talk as kissing the Blarney Stone. As a youngster, I always thought this description was just a product of the old days. The stone is real and located at the Blarney Castle in Ireland.
"For over 200 years, world statesmen, literary giants, and legends of the silver screen have joined the millions of pilgrims climbing the steps to kiss the Blarney Stone and gain the gift of eloquence. Its powers are unquestioned but its story still creates debate."
I have never been to Ireland, but I admire concise writing. When I first moved to Denver, I was a technical writer for a Space Shuttle Program. My editors were amazed at my ability to pick apart large technical manuals. Home inspection reports should be concise and written with the reader in mind. The Space Shuttle Program aimed for a 6th grade reading grade level, so I try to write clearly for an audience who may be new to systems found in the home. It is important to show all the elements of the inspection in a way that a buyer and seller can fully understand. It benefits everyone when things are well written and to the point.
My take on the Blarney stone is to post ideas and solutions when I find them!
